I’ve been inspired for the last week or so to pay homage to St. Patrick’s Day with various AI images. Mostly my efforts have focused on adding green top hats to various critters.
Of course I started with owls. Then I wondered what a raccoon might look like with a top hat.1 I asked for shamrocks too … but they are apparently still not a part of AI’s skill set.
I thought a panda might be cute but they all ended up looking as if they’d drunk too much green beer.
It’s quite possible, in fact, that this panda drank some of the green beer below. Which is not the weirdest thing AI’s ever come up with but still … it’s pretty strange in my opinion. Maybe I’ve asked for so many owls over the last month that Midjourney automatically assumes I want them (or something like them) everywhere, all the time.
I tried for days to convince AI to create a dolphin with a green top hat. This is the closest I ever got. I have no idea where the rainbow colors came from but I like to think it’s a gay dolphin celebrating St. Paddy’s Day.
And, just for fun, here’s one more Irish-themed owl.
Every time I think of raccoons, I’m reminded of the time I said to a friend, “Oooo, raccoons are really cute. I wonder if they make good pets.” My friend, obviously appalled, said, “Lisa! Raccoons are like cats with hands! Do you really want to have a cat with hands in your house?!?” I was horrified at the thought and admitted that I did not. Cats get into enough trouble without hands.
