I’m totally done with winter … even though it’s ultra-clear that winter isn’t done with me. But I can dream, and AI makes it easier to share those dreams. Here’s an example of what Midjourney came up with when I asked for a labyrinth in Ireland.1 I love green, flowers, and labyrinths so this image is ideal from my point of view.
At the same time, I began wondering if Midjourney could create a freeform quilt.2 I asked for colorful flowers and the result, while possibly a bit busier than anything I’d want to put on my bed, definitely didn’t disappoint in terms of bright colors.
I wondered if a labyrinth by the ocean — at sunset, no less — was possible. The answer was yes, at least as long as a few concentric circles qualify as a labyrinth.
Could a few birds possibly be added to my imaginary quilted garden? But of course! I could maybe put this quilt on my bed — if it were real, that is.
Finally, my favorite of them all. I really, really wish I could be in this nonexistent place, sitting on one of the rocks and daydreaming.
I keep reminding myself that winter, too, shall pass.
I made up a word for the prompt, or so I thought: Irishcore. It turns out many others have used it previously, and Midjourney seemed to understand it better than some of the other words.
The two concepts might not seem, at first glance, to be related — but they are: they both represent spring, at least in my mind.
Beautiful!
